TRY Me Online shopping :#3 Modanisa review

ONLINE SHOPPING : Modanisa Review

Being a Muslim girl that follows fashion was never easy , although we used to see new designs and trends in other Islamic countries Jordan was very late to follow the wave . it was either a luxury of a certain class of people who travel each year and buy cloths from turkey or you have to stick with what semi covering and long cloths you find in the market .

It all changed when the world dived into online shopping and a lot of Turkish and Islamic designers found their new launching platform to worldwide markets , it was revolutionary for us , at this moment the shops expanded and you can find an endless number of websites directed for Muslim girls and teenagers , more to that in the past year or so they started opening an eye towards Arabic markets and costumers , the most well known and well advertised website in the middle east is Modanisa , and we are here today to test it out .

 How i ordered my items

Modanisa Provides both a PC shopping site and an Application on your smart phone , i was not convinced when i first saw their adds on Facebook but when i started seeing amazing discounts and the cash on delivery option i was hocked on trying it out at least once , i opened the website using my phone and it directed me towards the Play store , i downloaded the app and it was really easy to use , i tried to go under 30 JOD for my first try and convince my self if it turns out okay i will splurge more later .

To be perfectly honest i did not like the designs at first , it was more "Turkish " than the Turkic clothing we have here in Jordan , they where simple and rather too tall for my taste but it all changed when i looked deeper into the categories they have , i really liked all the evening dresses they had , since we go to a lot of weddings here and it would be nice to have a full covered night dress to go with - if your not first grade relative  to either the groom or the bride - some of them are really expensive and you might find better options in Amman and Irbid's main shops , but some are cheap and elegant enough not to act so flashy in a wedding that doesn't revolve around me "Daaaa !! " .

More to that i stumbled upon the Hijab's section and i loved it , at least when it comes to a hijab all you care about it the width , material and prints , not easily missed up if you ask me , i didn't look too much into other categories but i think they update them frequently so it will be unfair towards them to judge it based on a certain collection !

Back to the items i bought , i ordered a simple skirt and went to the largest size " i just gave birth! " it was super cheap only  5.98 JOD , also i got myself a pink vest  for  2.91 JOD and a flower Printed Hijab for  7.51 JOD , furthermore since it was my first time trying their application they gave me another free shawl "it came dark blue i did not chose the color
" the prices where all discounts and i didn't want to gamble using my personal visa i went with the cash on delivery option " i didn't know it took extra  4.29 JOD to get it " this was all on the first of February 2017 , it took them a month to get to my house , after a week of my purchase an international number called me and a guy confirmed my order .

The total price of my items adding to that the extra cost for the " cash of delivery " option was 26.71 JOD , as i said earlier it arrived one month or so after i ordered them , it was delivered using Aramex and everything was packed into small compacted bags , everything had a card tagged to them and it all said Made In Turkey loud and clear .

This was the marbella shawl i got
And this is the skirt
last but not least the vest

Now please not that these pricing are not the same as the ones i payed " the date i took these screen shot is the same as the date i wrote this post " almost 8 months ago :P

First impression

Well when i first saw the Aramex guy i expected the package to be a little bit neater than a bag so packed it seamed like i ordered a pair of socks , i say that because Choies and Jollychic tend to give a personal touch to their items with nice bags and packaging .

Moving forward i was so  exited to finally get them , and i opened the bags as expected they where all wrinkled and i didn't mind it at all , all i had to do is wash them and iron them to get the feeling of a nice neat piece of clothing , after i have done that i tried them on , the skirt was a little big but that was expected since i got the largest size " they do have a sizing chart which you can check on each item , but i was too lazy to make the extra effort !" the vest was super cool - not too wearable though due to the color and extreme patterns , the thing i was most disappointed with is the patterned shwal , it was so thin you need a triple layer to make it pop , also the expected white parts of the shwal where yellowish and i hated that , i don't wear it at all and what made me upset is the fact that is was the most expensive item :( .

On the bright side , i was supper happy with the gift they send me , it was a simple shwal dark blue colored but it was just my thing , i really liked it and i wear it a lot .

After Examination

When it comes to the skirt , it was a little light weighted and i was bothered by that since the sale was in winter i expected it to be a little more warming , but on the other hand that's what you expect for such a price ! , the stitching wash perfect " you tend to find weird stitching when buying online " also the fabric is forgiving in nature and not too stiff but not too soft either , i will leave the images i took in natural day lighting for your personal judgment .

As it comes to the vest , it was also light weighted and semi see-through , but also it was cheap , i liked the cut of it and how it covers your back side well and yet leave an opening for your frontal piece underneath , needs a little fashion sense to pull it off , but a good piece after all .

As i said before , the shawl was not to my taste , and i regret buying it since i haven't wore it even once , the material might be okay to some of you , some even prefer it this light , but what bothered me the most is the texture and the color difference i got from the original  image and description .

last but not least the gift i got , it didn't have a price tag or even a source plate , but i was fine with that .

Final thoughts

As an existing website for muslim girls , its very helpful and can provide a wide variety of products , you might think its cheap but you get what you pay for , don't expect to get very well made and heavy material cloths for cheap , this saying goes to all websites !!, also be very careful when picking your sizes , and check the size chart .

we are not done yet , we might have another review about modanisa in the future so please stay tuned .
